"To become a competent Aviator you must train with a seasoned professional"

“We appreciate your interest in AFTC;Accelerated Flight training Center Our program is geared for the busy pilot who wants to achieve his or her rating in a few short days, not months.”

The most experienced pilots in aviation teach our guaranteed 10-DAY INSTRUMENT COURSE. If you can’t travel to us, we will travel to you.

Our 10-day IFR course is total immersion as commonly experienced in professional and military training. You can learn in the convenience of your hometown or travel to us at our Long Beach, Ca facility where you can use our state of the art classrooms and simulators. We teach you the practical side of flying IFR to ensure that you become a competent and safe IFR Rated pilot. All our courses are designed to custom fit the busy schedule of professional men and women. We will also be flexible should unforeseen circumstances occur in your regular training schedule.

Our Professional IFR Course includes mastering the following:

Flight Planning
Approaches (ILS-VOR-GPS-DME)
ATC Communication
SID’S-DP’S-STARS
Enroute Chart Interpretation
Weather Interpretation
IFR Aircraft Systems
Emergency Procedures

Our guaranteed 7-DAY INSTRUMENT COURSE may be all you need if you have already started your IFR training at another training facility.
|

Our 7-day IFR course is designed to finish up pilots that have received prior instruction but have been unable to complete their IFR training. Many of our pilots started elsewhere and came to us to complete their training. You will complete the same training as in our 10-day course but the prerequisites differ, as the training time is less.

At all times,
your proficiency and safety in the IFR environment is our utmost goal.

Let’s review the great benefits you will receive by choosing AFTC to    help you achieve the FAA approved IFR Rating.

The average age of our Instructors varies from 45 to 65 years.   Our instructors average 8,000 hours each and 2000 hours of instrument time. We will pair you with an instructor that is dedicated to you and your schedule. During your initial consultation, we will find out the best training schedule for you based upon your professional commitments any prior experience you may have. We will then customize a program for you and Guarantee the days and cost to you before you begin. We find that often we can customize a course less than 10 days and that is a savings to you.

We Guarantee you will receive your IFR Rating per the days contracted or we will pay for the additional training. Unlike many guaranteed courses we will complete your rating as we promised for 1 or 2 additional days as required. We finish what we start and you will become a safe, proficient IFR Pilot when you complete our course. Our syllabus is updated constantly to include all the new innovations in General Aviation. We address all of the most common IFR challenges you will meet in real life conditions.  Safety and competence is always our goal for you.

If you do not have availability to aircraft we can supply one for you. We have a fleet of over 30 new C172 with the G1000 panel and 5 with the conventional panel. We also offer a G1000 simulator good for 20 hours of certified IFR training. Call us on the cost of aircraft and simulator.

Program costs are only $495.00 per day

Many students want to know what the average day of training is like at AFTC

  • The course consists of 8 hours average per day. This is split between flight and oral preparation.
  • Your training is based on a building block of instruction. A normal day will start (at the time of your choosing); preflight and go over the days lesson plan.  Following is a 2-hour flight to perform the maneuvers discussed.
  • Next, a break is taken to go over about 2 hours of ground instruction, discuss the next flight and then execute that flight.
  • At the end of the second flight there is a post flight discussion to evaluate the day and plan the next day.
  • You will be constantly briefed on each phase of the day so you fully understand what is expected and your success as you progress. Again we will not be satisfied until you are proficient enough not only to pass the PTS requirements but also to be a proficient Instrument Pilot.
  • You will also be trained in all the latest avionics, GPS, HSI, PFD, MFD, Glass Panel, DME, Auto Pilot, etc. Whenever possible you will be trained in actual IMC conditions.

What will happen at your Check Ride?

When you are ready for your check ride, we will set up the examiner. Our instructor will accompany you to your to ensure that you are prepared to pass the practical test.

We will evaluate and communicate with you constantly during the days training. We do not, and will not, simply train you to pass your Check Ride; our goal is to see you become the best IFR pilot you can be and able to handle any IFR situation you may encounter. We will train you in actual IFR conditions when available. We want to be there when you experience your first actual IFR conditions. Our job is not complete until you are satisfied that you are a safe, competent and confident IFR pilot.

Our program is not only convenient but Cost- Effective

  • The national average to obtain your IFR rating is 68 hours.
  • You will complete AFTC's course in 45hours. That is obviously a considerable savings on money and time.
  • When you compare the time and costs spent on AFTC Accelerated Program vs. normal 4 or 5 months training you will be amazed at the savings.

We know and appreciate that we have your trust and safety in our hands. We will not abdicate that responsibility. Your safety is our utmost concern. We work with the FAA to train a FITS scenario based lesson plan.
