Many students want to know what the average day of training is like at AFTC

We have adopted a military "immersion" style training of fly fly fly attitude, combined with a Jeppesen syllabus enables students to retain the information in a more timely fashion. It also promotes higher retention levels as Training is absorbed.

Courses are all different and Students are Unique in the sense that Experience differs between each Individual. AFT Center excels in tailoring our courses to suit your time and experience as an Aviator. We schedule and design our Accelerated Courses of Instruction around you.

Your training is based on The Building Block Instruction Technique. Every day is different and is adjusted as required to enable a comfortable pace and environment in which to learn. You Instructor will keep you well informed of tomorrows lesson and ensure you are fully briefed ahead of time.

You will be constantly evaluated by your Instructor each day. Your Instructor is evaluated by our Check Airman to ensure you receive the highest level of Instruction at all times. This approach to Teaching is unique to AFT Center.  We teach according to the required PTS (Practical Test Standard) for which the Student receives a full and comprehensive copy prior to commencement of training. This way the Student remains in the loop of Information and is aware of all up and coming training events

You will also be trained in all of the latest avionics, GPS, HSI, PFD, MFD, Glass Panel, DME Auto Pilot, etc, whether you are a Career Pilot or flying for fun, we will ensure you have all the tools available at your fingertips.  Unlike most Flight Schools, AFT Center whenever possible,  will train you in actual IMC conditions! What will happen at your check ride?

AFT Center enjoys a staggering 97% first time pass rate across our Ratings. Because of this we are able to schedule your Checkride on signup for your particular course. We are also able to secure the best dates and times for your Checkride due to a proactive approach to our training. Your Flight Instructor will accompany you to your Checkride ensuring a smooth transition at all times.

Our Examiners expect the highest possible level of Instruction from us at all times. We do not just train you to pass a Checkride, we will present you with Airports and Approaches that you will possibly never see again ensuring proficiency in your progress at all times. We work with many Examiners and have found them all to be very different from the next, they do however all share the same high level of course presentation for which we are consistently renowned to produce.

We know and appreciate that we have your trust and safety in our hands. We will not abdicate that responsibility. Your safety is our utmost concern. We work with the FAA to train a FITS scenario based lesson plan.
